Do I have to be an actor?

No!  While acting training and experience is helpful to audiobook narration, as long as you have the willingness to learn and the persistence to keep going we provide you with tools to begin building your craft.

Does my location matter?

No! You can do this work from anywhere. That’s the point!

How much do I have to participate?

As much as possible. Participation in the program is up to you, but you will not succeed in building a narration career if you don't actively take steps to make it happen. Showing up is 90%.

When are the bonus Q+A calls with Elise and Justin?

There are several calls throughout the month including (but not limited to):

Tech Q+A Calls with Justin on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 3:00 p.m. ET / Noon PT

Course Q+A Calls with Elise on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 2:00 p.m. ET / 11:00 a.m. PT

All the calls are recorded, and replays are available on Circle afterwards. If you cannot join us live, you have the opportunity to submit a question ahead of time.

What kind of equipment do you need to begin this training and what would be the cost for the equipment required to get started?

The equipment you have right now may be all you need to complete the course. That said, there are a few non-negotiables you’ll need to acquire to work competitively across the industry. We cover all necessary equipment and how to acquire it in the second part of the course. We do our best to help you get started on any budget.

Justin coaches you through building a DIY home studio. We want you to get working as soon as possible so you can re-invest this initial investment in yourself as you build your career. Start thinking scrappy and being brave!

Is this a self-paced course or is there a schedule to follow?

It’s a mix of both on-demand training and coaching/community support.

What if I cannot make a bonus call?

We understand you may have conflicts during the live call times; that's why we've designed this program so that you don't need to attend LIVE to get your questions answered.

How difficult is it to connect with publishers to get work? What kind of annual income can one hope to make as an audiobook narrator?

We don’t think it’s difficult to connect with publishers. We give you a complete roadmap inside the course on how to effectively reach out and follow through, and where to find contacts. When you show up fully in the program, there is opportunity to build relationships with coaches and mentors, as well as your peers. Many publisher and producer referrals have come from these relationships.

As for annual income, it depends on how many books you want to narrate per year, or we might want to break that down into finished hours of recording. We can answer this question as it pertains to you in a coaching call within the program, but in general, narrators who work consistently make ballpark $20,000-60,000 USD per year.

How long does it take to get through the course and start working?

This really depends on the student - acting training, current sound equipment (if any), and mainly motivation, focus and follow-through. We have accountability built into the program to help you effectively move through the training.

In the intro class, you saw the success stories of Jennifer (with a ton of paid acting experience already under her belt) and Terry (no acting experience before the course). They both began working consistently with publishers a few months after completing the entire framework.

What is your refund policy?
